Edward E. Mayes, 91, of Bedias, Texas, formerly Houston, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Bedias. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Iola Missionary Baptist Church in Iola with Reverend Tom McDougald officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston. 

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ella Vee Mayes of Bedias; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy Eileen and William Menasco of Weimar, Texas; one sister, Addie Mae Dorsey of Bedias; two grandchildren, Michelle Turner and her husband Scott, and Michael Menasco and his wife Sonja; and two great-grandchildren, Victoria Turner and Valerie Turner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
